Michael Sherman McGuire, 55, of Panther, WV, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at his home in Trap Fork Hollow. He was born on April 27, 1957, in Iaeger, WV to the late Marvin McGuire and Glenace Blankenship McGuire.
Michael was a wonderful man who enjoyed fishing, hunting, music, cooking, sports and spending time with his friends and family. He worked as a coal miner for 15 years and served as local union president for 8165 District 17. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend to all. He has a special place in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
Michael was extremely loving and proud of his two daughters, Michaela McGuire, of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Jessica McGuire O'Steen, her husband Travis, and their son, Gunnar of Micanopy, FL. He is also survived by his brother, Steve McGuire, of Panther, WV; his two sisters, Tabatha McGuire Walker and her husband Burgess of Bland, VA, and Judy McGuire Muncy and her husband Steve of Panther, WV; nieces Kelli McGuire Preuss and her husband Chuck, of Pleasant Garden, NC, and Marissa McGuire and daughter Kali of Panther, WV. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother Jackie McGuire. 
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 2, at 5 o clock, at Panther Missionary Baptist Church, Panther WV with Darrell Blankenship Officiating. An ash scattering ceremony will take place on Michael's birthday, April 27, 2013.

  My heart is breaking.  Michael made me smile.  The last time I got to hang out with him, me him and Glenace made pintos and corn bread.  I was stirring up the bread and he said it needed to be runny. Now when I make it I can can hear him telling me to add more liquid.  He also taught me all I know about football.  I sure miss him and love him dearly.  He is a wonderful cousin and friend.  I love you all.  Our memories are forever in my heart.
