Elder Elbert Justice, 90, of Trace Fork Hollow near Panther, WV, passed away at his home early Friday, August 17, 2012, following a long illness.
Elbert was born March 18, 1922 in Panther, WV, a son of the late William A. and Amanda Matney Justice. He was a retired coal miner, an army veteran of WW II, and a Pastor at the Beulah Land Baptist Church at Trace Fork for 68 years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Florence Burks Justice and his siblings, Quary Justice, William “Willie” Justice, Lucy Bailey, John, Ervin, Walter, Everett, Paul, and Clarence Justice, and Dicy Justus.
Survivors include five daughters, Corba Murray and husband Robert of Tuscumbia, AL, Opal Matney and husband Daniel of Panther, WV, Ruth Justice and husband Fred of Waitville, WV, Carrol Justus and husband Larry of Panther, WV, and Judy Bryant and husband Jesse of Branchland, WV; three sons, Arnold “Bill” Justice and wife Sherry of Bristol, TN, Ronald Justice and wife Judy of Roderfield, WV, and Phillip Justice and wife Brenda of Bull Creek, WV; one sister, Freda Matney of Panther, WV; sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 20, 2012, at 2 o’clock, with Elder Alvin Belcher officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV. Burial will follow in the Justice Cemetery at Trace Fork near Panther, where military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Post #175 and the VFW Post #1144.
Friends may visit with the family at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger Sunday evening, August 19, 2012, from 6 to 9 p.m.
