John “Sanford” Coleman, 77, of Bluefield, WV passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at his residence in Bluefield WV.
Sanford was born August 5, 1935 in Hurley, VA, a son of the late Hiram and Dicie Coleman. He was a retired coal miner and was a Pastor of the Church of God Faith for 44 years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Dewayne Coleman, two granddaughters Ashley Dawn and Courtney Renae Coleman, one sister Hattie Coleman, and one brother Mont Coleman.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years Lora Ann Coleman, one daughter Della Kay Coleman and her husband Steve of Bluefield WV; three sons, Danny Coleman and wife Sharon of Weston, WV, Terry Coleman and wife Brenda of Iaeger, WV, and David Coleman and wife Katherine of Beckley, WV; one sister, Paulene Osborne and husband Whitten of Iaeger WV; one brother, Arnold Coleman and wife Linda of Bland, VA; nine grandchildren, Daniel, Shaun, Kaitlyn, Megan, Frankie, Michelle, Trace, Josh, and Kristy; and six great grandchildren, Danaylla, Veandala, Alexandra, Alexis, Alyssa, and Aric.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 10, 2012, at 1 o‘clock, with Reverend Ronald Lester, Reverend Ronald Coleman, and Reverend Oscar Roberts officiating at the Panther Missionary Baptist Church in Panther, WV. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens on Route 20 near Bluewell, WV. Pallbearers will be Frankie, Daniel, and Shawn Coleman and Mont Lester.
Friends may visit with the family at the Panther Missionary Baptist Church Thursday evening, August 9, 2012, after 6 p.m.
