Eugene Hurley, 64, of Mohawk, WV, passed away Monday, July 30, 2012, in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. 
   
Eugene was born August 12, 1947, in Mohawk, WV, a son of the late George Walter and Vernie Cleo Prater Hurley.  He  was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA.  Also, he was a retired construction worker/home builder.
   
Survivors include his companion of twenty nine years, Carol Collins of Bluefield, WV; two daughters, Rebecca Faith Hurley Stinson and husband Manuel of Avondale, WV, and Teresa Ferrell of Bartley, WV; four grandchildren, Aaron James Julius Stinson of Avondale, WV, Kristen Ferrell and David Ferrell both of Jolo, WV, and Tiffany Kendrick also of Jolo, WV; and one brother, Clinton Darrell Hurley of Barboursville, WV.
   
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 3, 2012 at 12 noon with Reverend Willie Coleman officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV.  Burial will follow in the Bailey Cemetery on the right hand fork of Bull Creek near Mohawk, WV.  Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
 
Friends may visit with the family at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV, Thursday evening, August 2, 2012 from 6 to 9 p.m.
