Doliver Lester, 65, of Panther, WV, has gone home to be with his family and is sadly missed. He left this world early Monday morning, July 23, 2012, from his residence in Panther, WV.
Doliver was born March 23, 1947, in Paynesville, WV. He was a son of the late Auther and Ida Estep Lester. He was of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed his pipe and coffee, and also he enjoyed his favorite song;“ Ain’t No Grave Going To Hold My Body Down.”
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Dennis, Johnny, Hensley, Dan, Oliver, and Okey Lester, and Gervis Roberts; two sisters, Delphine Lester, and Rosa Payne, one grandson, Dennis Austin Ward, and one niece.
Survivors include one brother, Oscar Roberts and wife Joetta of Rocky Gap, VA; one sister, Delcie Blankenship of McGraw, WV, one daughter Delcie Lester Ward and husband Woodrow of the home; one granddaughter, Lashona Ward of Long Pole, WV; two sisters-in-law, Daisy Payne of the home, and Opal Lester of Bartley; a brother-in-law, Roland Payne of Jolo; thirteen nieces; twelve nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 28, 2012, at 1 o’clock with Preacher Ann Mullins, Reverend Jessie Estep and Reverend Pete Woods officiating at the Jesus Church in Bartley, WV. Burial will follow in the Tom Lester Cemetery on Estep Ridge near Paynesville, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be Woodrow Ward, Michael Proffitt, Ricky McCoy, Johnny Lester, Patrick Bailey, Brandon Bailey, Brian Proffitt, Cody Looney, Jacob Lester, and Jonathan Lester.
Friends may visit with the family at the Jesus Church in Bartley, Friday evening, July 27, 2012, after 6 p.m., where evening services will be conducted at 7 p.m..
